Bellevue, WA – State GOP Chairman Luke Esser issued the following statement in response to Governor Christine Gregoire’s signing SB 6130 today:

"Gov. Gregoire and the Democrats have confirmed their contempt for the voters by overturning I-960, the Taxpayer Protection Act. I'm proud that every Republican legislator in Olympia voted to uphold I-960. The difference between the fiscal irresponsibility of the Democrats and the fiscal conservatism of the Republicans couldn't be any clearer than it is today in our state. Fortunately, the voters will have the final say in this matter and they won't need a super-majority this November to turn out those Democrats who have arrogantly disregarded the will of the people."
