BELLEVUE, WA - Washington State Republican Party Chairman Luke Esser released the following statement in response to President Barack Obama's First State of the Union Address:

"President Barack Obama continues to ignore the number one priority of the American people: creating jobs and getting our economy moving again. What the President fails to understand is that the American peoples’ frustration stems directly from the leftward agenda he has tried to push through Congress despite the overwhelming protests of voters. Barack Obama and the Democrats are spendaholics who just can’t kick their addiction. Obama boldly announced a spending freeze, but it’s a New Years resolution that won’t take affect until next year. People who believe that Barack Obama really intended to broadcast healthcare negotiations over C-SPAN should also believe he intends to rein in government spending next year."
